i have extremely thick straight/wavy hair that falls between my shoulder and chest. i really want my hair to be curly like Vanessa Anne Hudgens ...how should i go about this...curling iron? how big? hot rollers?... ive tried rollers before and they havent worked because my hair is so thick... a perm wont work because i still want to be able to straighten my hair.

The thing that most people don't understand is that these girls have expensive hair extensions and professional hair stylist. The most important thing is how long your hair is. curlers usually don't work that well and using a large barrel curling iron will work but it takes a long time. The best tool is actually a straightener. start at the root of your hair and twist your wrist while going down your strand of hair it makes large waves that last long. It works well for me good luck

I have the same length hair as you %26amp; unfortunately, it doesn't curl . %26amp; it's too thick - so we really can't unless we get it profesionally styled.

i actually have this same problem and i was trying to do this hairstyle today and what i did was shampoo and condition then when my hair was damp/dry i applied some leave in conditioner..then i just used 1 1/2 inch curling iron
