Curly hair with straight bangs?

I have dark brown curly hair that is pretty curly, especially the part that would be my bangs.

Its all one layer with grown out bangs which is really annoying, it makes my head look like a mountain and ugly and just there. It its a little below shoulder length. My forehead is not terribly big, but it would be pretty with bangs I would think.

I really want bangs, but if I were to get them I would straighten them everyday. ( Yes, I'm very committed and I know its probably not good for your hair, but I would buy a good straightener and use protective products. )

And I think I would look nice with long straight side bangs. (I'm 13)

I've had straight hair as a baby and I miss having it. ( I'm half Chinese )

So, any opinions? I'm probably getting long layers, also.

I have really curly hair too and I've had long side bangs for the past year and a half and I really like them. I actually don't straighten them with a straightener, I blow dry with a medium round brush. It may be a little poofy at first, but after about 10 minutes and spritzing it with a little hairspray at the root on your head (so the part stays) and very very little on the bangs, they won't be poofy at all!
